Twilight Badge
Very excited that Twilight will be released on DVD on 22 April. Definitely getting the 2 disc edition.

I've Been Asleep

This might sound crazy, but I think parts of me have been asleep for the last five years or so... I think I have kind of been operating on Auto Pilot. Get up, get the girls ready for the day, go to work, come home, cook dinner, spend a little time with the girls, do business stuff, maybe do something else if I wasn't too tired and then go to bed (normally way too late), Repeat, Repeat, Repeat. Up until just over a year ago, I had little time to do anything else. Business stuff was all consuming, my previous job was stressful (especially business trips that took me away for days, and preparation and learning I seemed to have to do on my own time rather than work time), I was close to breaking point... actually I think I reached it and then some.

We made some changes starting two years ago now - I changed jobs to a much less demanding one, in an industry that I have an interest in, and yeah I took a huge pay cut, but hey it was worth it; we got out of one business; and we reduced my work load for the businesses we still have - thanks in part to finding someone we can trust (my wonderful and very smart niece-in-law). And even though we/I made these changes - I have still continued to operate on auto pilot, always cramming the things I have to do into our busy life, never really stopping to simply experience and enjoy life and the people around me.

Have you even read a book, watched a movie, or had an experience that changed your life for the better? Once again, I'm going to sound like a mad woman - but for me, that was reading Stepehnie Meyer's Twilight series in January and watching the first of the four movies (the others to be released progressively over the next couple of years).

The books and the movie have changed my outlook on life - I feel a tad obsessive, which kind of makes me feel a lot younger (does that make any sense?). Twilight was the first book I have read in over three years, and actually enjoyed. It has renewed my interest for reading, listening to music, buying clothes, and just generally experiencing life. It also reminded me of that feeling you get when you first fall in love - when a touch can be electrifying, and the anticipation of seeing that someone special drives you to distraction. A feeling I guess I have had less than a handful of times in my lifetime. It's nice remembering that feeling, I hope everyone gets the chance to feel that way at least once in their lifetime.

I guess in summary - I think I have just woken up from a very long sleep!

It's been too long

It has been too long between scrapbook pages. I haven't finished any pages since before Christmas, so have been suffering from withdrawals lately. Finally found some time last night, at a reasonable hour - and managed to do 2 1/2 pages - here are the two I finished:

This cute picture of Jas was taken at a friend's birthday party last year at Pink Kisses:

These pictures of Eliza make me laugh, they were actually taken at Taronga Zoo in Sydney at the end of last year:

Not even a tear!

Eliza's first day at Play School went very well. She was very excited to go. As soon as we got there she ran off to play with the toys. Before we left I gave her a kiss and a hug, and she ran off to sit on the mat and hear a story - I don't think she cared when we left. She had a big smile on her face when we came to pick her up. She was the first to be called up, and receive a stamp, before she put on her shoes and socks, and collect her bag to go home. Jas asked her whether she missed her, Eliza's response was quick and decisive "Nope". On the way home we asked her how her day was. She said she played today, and the rest was us asking her questions and getting a yes/no response. Here are some pictures of her dressed for her first day of Play School with her back pack on:
